"I started at Challoch during the uncertain transition period between the pandemic and normalcy, but it didn't matter as the team was so warm and welcoming! I got to work on a Local Energy Market project, creating the specifications for a Local Energy Operating System. At all times, the team supported and guided me. They also gave me space to take a lot of responsibility myself and allowed me to bring my own expertise and ideas to the project. Challoch is a forward thinking team working on concrete, cutting edge decarbonisation projects with interesting stakeholders. I wouldn't change my four months with Challoch to anything!" "Joining Challoch Energy is above all a great human adventure. The whole team immediately put me at ease and in the best conditions to work. Naturally, this motivated me to give the best of myself to accomplish the tasks that were entrusted to me. In addition to the different tasks I had to perform, I had the chance to develop a LCOE model for three categories of renewable energy: onshore and offshore wind and solar. “The four months spent at the heart of Challoch Energy have allowed me to discover the inner workings of the renewables energy sector. Being a part of such a close team/family made it possible to collaborate and communicate easily but also to be involved in many different projects from the start. In my case, I was able to research and build techno-economic models for green hydrogen, wind turbine technologies and low-carbon heat networks. Finally, despite the particular circumstances caused by the Covid-19 virus, the company adapted swiftly, kept everyone’s spirits up and continued to positively impact the industry." "I worked at Challoch Energy for 6 months. During my time here I work on many projects, with a focus on the PACE project. Through this I learnt a lot about the technical side of renewable energies and cogeneration, notably around gas and electrical grid connection. Through this, and my education, I now have a good general knowledge of renewable energies and low carbon sources. I developed numerous skills by working on a real project, these skills will be especially useful when going into my next job.
